- Justin Wong Added February 03, 2023★ ★ ★ ★ ★After moving back to Melbourne recently one of the first challenges was finding a good lunch spot. Having worked in Sydney CBD options were abundant but coming to Southbank initially showed some cause for concern.
Enter Pellaroma.
Now I'm only on my third meal there but already it's a favourite. They seem to serve a wide variety of meals but I feel they differentiate themselves by premium service and quality food.
As a Chinese I've eaten a tonne of rice in the past but honestly there is something magical about the steamed rice coming out of Pellaroma. It's simply better than most places I've eaten at as it was perfectly white and fluffy. Couple that with their delicious butter chicken or chilli con carne and it was a fantastic satisfying lunch.
Sure their prices cost a little more ($11 instead of sub $10) than the rest of the cheaper lunch spots, but was it worth it? Yes.
Now you CAN put a price on quality food and friendly service; it's only $11 at Pellaroma.

They could be a little more creative with the menu and mix it up a bit more. It can be a bit repetitive sometimes despite it always being very good quality I find.
